Commercial Joinery’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its dedicated team of three sales professionals, two talented designers, a proficient accounts department, and a thriving manufacturing division of at least eleven experienced staff, nurturing three to four apprentices. This comprehensive structure solidifies Commercial Joinery’s position at the forefront of the industry and as a major player in the Wellington region.

Grant Smith

Operations Manager/Director at Commercial Joinery

Grant’s journey with Commercial Joinery Wellington Ltd. began in 2004, at the age of 16 when he started as a factory hand. Those early years were spent learning the fundamentals of the trade from the ground up. Driven by a genuine passion for craftsmanship, Grant dedicated himself to mastering the art of joinery and successfully gained his qualifications. Since 2017, at the age of 29, he has been privileged to part-own and direct the very company that nurtured his career. This extensive hands-on experience, spanning over two decades, combined with a deep, practical understanding of the craft, enables Commercial Joinery to guarantee their clients receive the highest quality joinery solutions.

Adam Marshall

Cabinetry Manager at Commercial Joinery

Adam manages the cabinetry division at Commercial Joinery Wellington Ltd., overseeing all aspects of cabinetry work to ensure top-quality craftsmanship and on-time delivery. With over 18 years of experience, Adam brings a distinguished background to the trade. Beginning his career in Australia at 18 as an apprentice, he quickly earned “Apprentice of the Year” in 2009. His attention to detail and customer relation skills led him to become a lead installer, overseeing projects and staff for over eight years. After relocating to New Zealand, he joined Commercial Joinery in 2018 as a cabinetmaker. His talent and dedication quickly led to promotions to cabinetry foreman and, ultimately, cabinetry manager.

Chloe Daniels

Designer at Commercial Joinery

Chloe is passionate about creating spaces that are not only elegant and timeless but also highly functional and well-designed. Chloe has a diploma in Interior Design, and she’s spent two years honing her skills at commercial joinery, specializing in kitchen design and all types of bespoke cabinetry. Whether she’s crafting custom cabinetry or reimagining entire kitchen layouts, Chloe is committed to creating cohesive, beautiful spaces that also push the boundaries of design, innovation and creativity.

Throughout her time at commercial joinery, she’s had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, always focusing on bringing their visions to life and tailoring each design to suit their unique lifestyles and needs.

Nirvana Oliver-Wilson

Project Manager at Commercial Joinery

Nirvana began his joinery career as a factory hand for Commercial Joinery at the age of 17. He quickly gained valuable skills and insights that would shape his future endeavors in the industry. During his employment here, he successfully completed his craftsman apprenticeship. Nirvana’s commitment to excellence and attention to detail became evident through his exceptional craftsmanship.
Due to his dedication to both the company and the trade, he remained with Commercial Joinery for 7 years.
 
Seeking opportunities for further growth and knowledge, Nirvana then traveled to Australia for 2 years. In Australia, he immersed himself in various joinery techniques and networked with some of the industry’s best professionals.
Upon his return, he rejoined Commercial Joinery in the role of project manager, ready to take the next steps in his joinery journey.


This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career, filled with aspirations for innovation and leadership.

Fergal O'connell

Cad Technician/Designer at Commercial Joinery

Fergal’s contributions to Commercial Joinery Wellington Ltd. are invaluable, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing. He joined us in 2023 as an industrial design student seeking work experience, and his talent was immediately clear. Upon graduating, he became a full-time CAD technician and furniture designer, bringing his creative vision to our projects.

His expertise in CNC programming has since become essential to our production process, ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of our designs.

Wayne’s story is one of mastery achieved through unwavering commitment and an ‘old school’ dedication to his craft. Forty years ago, he embarked on his apprenticeship, laying the groundwork for a career that would span continents. His expertise in cabinet making and building has been forged through projects across New Zealand and Brisbane, each contributing to his vast knowledge base.

Now, as our cabinetry foreman, he brings not only his technical skills but also a wealth of practical wisdom, guiding our team with a steady hand, an eye for detail, and a profound respect for a job well done

Nick Fouhy

Joinery Foreman at Commercial Joinery

Nick Fouhy has extensive experience in the building industry, combining practical skills with management know-how. With over 10 years in joinery, he has sharpened his abilities in the trade, alongside 15 years in various managerial roles like Territory Manager, Business Development Manager, and Operations Manager. 

Currently, Nick is also in the process of completing his building apprenticeship, showing his dedication to keeping up with industry trends. This strong mix of technical skills, business savvy, and enthusiasm for the trade makes Nick a well-respected professional in the building industry.
